Miscellaneous Week Stuff...
Apr. 7th, 2006 06:40 amFirst, a happy belated birthday to
davemassive! I'll have Graeter's in your honor :)
Thanks to everyone on the congrats to me becoming an uncle again. I'm heading down to Corbin today after work. Although if the weather is as bad as they say, I may postpone it until tomorrow morning though I can't wait to see the new nephew.
I finally watched a DVD I'd bought a few weeks ago, a rare Anime buy for me called Blood: The Last Vampire (2000).

While goofing around one night, I caught the tail end of this movie on one of the independent film channels. Normally, I don't enjoy Anime (ducks and hides) as I have never really liked the imagery of most, adult bodies with little kid faces just seems creepy to me. This movie was very well done though. The story of a vampire who stalks demons at an American Army base in 1966 Japan is well put together. The animation is very impressive, using different and changing shades of light and darkness which seems to bring an almost realistic dimension to the artwork. The direction is like that of a live movie, with jarring camera effects too. I highly recommend this one.
