Big birthday hugs to Bob ([livejournal.com profile] aries470)!

Highlights of the last couple of days:
  • I called Mom on Sunday. The conversation went something like this:

Mom: "I tried calling you last night, where were you?"
    Me: "Lexington."
Mom: "What were you doing down in Lexington?"
Me: "I was at a gay bar."
    Mom: **stunned awkward silence**
    Me: ** wicked satisfied grin**

  • The twin called yesterday to let me know that they are inducing birth on Wednesday. Baby Bradyn will have a birthday of 04/05/06, which will make it easy to remember. Not going down for the birth, but heading down this weekend to see him :)
  • I overslept yesterday. Instead of trying to fight the horrid traffic expected by Dubya's visit, I elected to stay home. I was in my PJ's all day. It was a good day.
  • At the gym at 5 AM this morning, King Kong was playing in the cardio cinema. While running on the treadmill I couldn't help but notice that Jack Black has a very strangely shaped head or maybe it was the wide screen that made it so.
  • On my desk this morning was a $100 gift card award from my office. Very cool. I foresee DVD purchases in my future :D

.. that is all :)

inducing doesn't necessarily make the baby come out. son #3 case in point. but gee. after trying to induce labor, with occassional contraction activity, drs decided after 29hrs maybe we should do a C-section. in hindsight, they shouldn't have waited that long. oddly enough, the umbilical cord was tied in a complete knot. something they very rarily see. apparently jr was doing some acrobatics early on. so a vaginal delivery could have put him in some serious cardiac stress.

i'm just saying!!!

Yikes...!

I know that inducing doesn't guarantee anything. My last nephew was born 14.5 hours after they induced my sister. If he'd stayed in another hour and a half, we'd have had the same birthday. My sister wouldn't agree to keep her legs together... selfish.. :D

Love the conversation..sounds like the conversation that goes on between my family members and I...trully wicked. :)
((HUGS))
Congrats on being an uncle (again)! :)
Ugh...there are times I want to be a daddy..or at least an uncle. :)

Ah, being wicked is so much fun sometimes... Mom needs her reality shaken up a bit on occasion.

And thanks, this will be my sixth time around as an uncle, my eldest nephew is 31 this week. Like you, there are times I wonder what it would be like to be a dad, but I think I'm not destined for that, so uncle is good :)

I read this and for the next hour I kept thinking, "What's so familiar about an 04/05 birthday?"

Then it hit me...Mother Dearest's birthday is tomorrow. I'll have to make a call and send a card post haste...

I think it great to be an uncle, I just became a great uncle a year ago. But it great to spoil the kid and then turn back over to your sibling. And have them say wait till you have some and you say not likely. I also think it great to tease your family, one of my sister-in-law buys me a bear every year and we laugh and no one else in the family understand. It our little joke. A second congrats on the $100 gift card, what did you do to win it? Bghairyman
