Celebrities I've Met...
Mar. 6th, 2006 01:26 pmAfter such a late night, I decided to take the day off. My boss wasn't too surprised and told me over and over again that they'd make due without me. He's a sarcastic guy at times. It's why we get along so well.
I got a haircut this morning, followed by a visit to the gym, and then home. A online friend the other day asked if I had ever met any celebrities in my travels. The answer I gave was no, which wasn't quite true as I didn't remember the time I met Red Green, another fine Canadian.

Harold, Me and Red Green
I dug this photo out of the picture box. It was back in the summer of 1998 when I lived in Kansas City. Red Green had helped out the PBS stations in the annual beg-a-thon. The top ten stations got a visit by Red and Harold. I happened to pledge to the local Topeka station, who surprisingly won a visit. So I braved the crowds to meet Red and Harold when they came to Topeka and got my picture taken with them.
I've always enjoyed the comedy of the The Red Green Show. The gravel-voiced, bearded Red Green and the group of rural folks out at Possum Lodge have entertained me for years. It's not Shakespeare, but it's not meant to be.
The downtrodden Possum Lodge pledge says it all: "I'm a man.. but I can change.. if I have to.. I guess.."
So what celebrities have you met?

Date: 2006-03-07 06:27 am (UTC)Bruce Campbell at his book signing for his autobiography, very cool guy.
Eddie Izzard after a Denver performance of Sexie. So worth the 10+ hour drive. He's actually pretty quiet off stage and shorter than I thought he would be.
Bill Goldberg at a publicity signing back in 1998. That boy is HUGE and a pretty genuine nice guy.
