The week has been amazingly busy, considering I worked only three days. I packed in what I could and next week is going to be that way too. Sigh...

I have my tax returns already. I was thinking of buying a large screen, LCD TV, but decided there were some more practical things to buy. Here are the highlights:

  • Monday was good, nothing like a day off.
  • Tuesday was misery in the morning, called off work, but felt better by the evening. I bought several DVD box sets and some bad horror movies I've been eyeing online.
  • Wednesday was back to work and playing catch up. One DVD already had shown up from Amazon Marketplace, I'll post a review of it later. I have childhood memories of it and want to see if it was really good or I was just very easy to please at that age.
  • Thursday was rush day. I snagged an optometrist appointment after work and a visit to Lenscrafters afterward. I took off early from work to avoid any traffic nightmares caused by the unnecessary visit of Dubya to Cincinnati. No new glasses for me yet as they have to be sent off because I chose "rimless" frames. No new contacts for me either because they had to order my trial pair. More tax return money spent with little to show for it there.
  • Thursday evening, I did buy a new cell phone from Cincinnati Bell as my old one would be obsolete come May. It has a camera and email capability. I contacted Cincy Bell to see how much each email would cost me. I'll not be sending many emails or pictures on the phone. I do like it, despite that it has sucky games on it.
  • Friday was good and busy, made the day go so fast. I like that. So busy that I didn't have a chance to check email or LJ today. I did my work all day to ABBA on my iPod. I forgot who told me to listen to ABBA to improve the mood. It does work. I'm so gay.
  • After work, I went to Hell-Mart for an oil change. How can something so simple take so damn long to do? When will I learn?
  • No movies were released this weekend that caught my eye, but I remember reading in [livejournal.com profile] cincy_dave's journal about a play called "The Mystery of Irma Vep" at the Monmouth Theatre tonight at 8 PM. Sorry it's short notice, but any local guys want to go tonight??

I wish I had read this earlier... I'd have driven down to Cincy tonight for the play. I was toying with a road trip this weekend and it would have been cool to see you...

Sorry, Dan, I didn't think of it until earlier today and just posted about it minutes ago :(

You weren't even slightly tempted by the release of "Tyler Perry's 'Madea's Family Reunion'"?

Eh, not really... I may wait to hear what friends say about it.

... and I didn't know you were on here! How are you doing these days, handsome?

I have the Erma Vep film on VHS. Not watched it in years so don't recall much about it but I *do* have it. :-)

I'd never heard of the play until my buddy Dave posted about it.

I saw Irma Vep when I was still living in Utah, at a little theatre at, of all places, an amusement park called... called... I don't remember the name of it! But it was on the road between Salt Lake and Ogden. I had seen the script and couldn't make head nor tail of it, but it totally made sense once I saw it on stage. I was amazed at the quick costume changes and all of the camp. I hope you got a group together and that you enjoyed it!!

Actually, you're the second person to tell me that he felt that the play lacked a cohesiveness or sorts, but I admit it was a lot of fun :)
