Dreaming About College & More
Jul. 6th, 2013 07:00 amIn this dream, I was back in college. This wasn't unusual as college seems to be a great focal point in my life. I'm sure it was fueled in part by my recent meeting of another Berea College grad for lunch. In this case I wasn't at Berea, but (I think) Eastern Kentucky University.
I was running around for classes in a six-floor building, trying to find a college buddy named Barry who worked there. While in a classroom, I was stopped by a very handsome foreign student -- dark wavy hair, nice scruffy face, and some fur sticking out of his collar. He wanted my card. I looked in my bag and couldn't find a single card of mine. He said for me to just give him my number on anything, so I just gave him a $5 bill and wrote my name and number on the back.
With nothing going on, I ended up back at my dorm. At some point, I decided to go outside naked at night. I am not sure if I was streaking or what, but sitting on the back porch of the dorm, I realized this was a bad idea. I reached inside my satchel to get my keys out of my jeans to go inside only to see the red and blue lights bouncing off the door. I turned around to see a police car with two cops laughing. One officer got out and asked if I was on drugs, still laughing. I said no and that I was outside for a prank. So he walks up to the door and knocks on it. I told him that wasn't necessary as I had keys, but one of my dorm mates answered and the cop just let me go. My dormmate asked what was going on, also laughing. I just smacked myself on my bare @$$ with a smile and said, "Just getting back from a date," as I walked up the stairs.
As I approached my room, I ran into a high school classmate named Laura who was sleeping on the floor. She was surprised to see me, but didn't seem to care that I was naked. Our conversation went something like this:
Laura: What are you doing here?
Me: I go to school here.
Laura: Why?
I couldn't answer her. It made little sense. I told her that I already had a degree in chemistry and a job, and it dawned on me that I didn't have a major. I immediately thought of getting a degree in forensic science (as this was a real life dream before all the CSI type shows were popular, and EKU has a forensic science degree program).
As if she read my mind, she said that the forensic degree was a good one and our friend Michelle (now a physician) was teaching courses in it.
I went inside to go to bed and found my room (more like an apartment) was in complete disarray and my older brother Donnie asleep on my couch.
The dream might have went on further, but I was awakened by something tapping me on the shoulder. It was Murphy the Cat (TM) pawing at me. He and Maggie the Cat (TM) were starring at me, seemingly giving me the "feed us" look. At 6:30 AM... ugh...
