Monday, Mundane... Blah
Jul. 23rd, 2012 08:50 amIt was not the best weekend, though weather-wise it was beautiful. It was nice to get out and clean up the yard a bit -- mowing, trimming hedges, etc.
I had a date Saturday night, but it ended on a sour note due to a lack of chemistry. However, the bad night didn't end there as the meal we had also tore up my stomach, making for a rough night of sleeping. While I'm not usually a fan of throwing up, I admit that it did make me feel better.
Yesterday, I took it easy, washing and folding laundry while watching a movie called "The Woman." It's the story of a religious family headed by an attorney father, who during a hunt captures a wild woman in the woods. He feels it's his duty to civilize this woman by force. While the wild woman remains bound in their cellar, you learn just how messed up the family itself is -- the teenage daughter is pregnant (supposedly by the father), the wife is a nervous wreck, the son is a sociopathic perv, and dad is an abusive letch. The humorous irony that this group of people are going to "civilize" the woman is brought out in the movie. It's also full of gore and violence.
Okay, back to the work grind. One more week as Acting Branch Director. yay...
