kybearfuzz: (Old Lady Shades 2)
So after 48 hours with my new specs, there is still something wrong. The lady at Lenscrafters told me on Sunday that my eyes needed to adjust to the new glasses, but I knew something was amiss. My right eye, which is usually the stronger one, suddenly didn't see so clearly through the lens. Just a slight, but noticeable fuzziness in the distance.

Lenscrafters AgainOn the way home from work, I stopped by my optometrist's office where her receptionist checked my new glasses and said that the prescription was slightly off. The last number in the sequence was only the slightly different than the prescription.

So after my P90X workout at home, I drove to Lenscrafters and had them check out the glasses. The tech checked the prescription in the computer against my written one and then took my specs for measurement. He came back and said the glasses were to the prescription was as written, so he told me I needed to go back to the optometrist.

On my way out of the mall, I called my optometrist to schedule a re-check. The same receptionist answered the phone and remembered me from earlier that afternoon. She then proceeded to question me about my Lenscrafters visit.

"Did he see the prescription?" she asked.

"Well, yeah, he checked it in the computer and then checked the glasses," I replied.

"Of course, he did," she said sarcastically, "Did he give you a printout?"

"No, I didn't ask for one," I said.

"Well, you should get one. Did you show him ours?" she asked.

"Look, short of calling him a liar, I don't see what else to do. Now is my appointment set?"

I was getting angry at this point, as both said the other was wrong, and I was stuck in the middle with a pair of glasses that didn't work for me. I was trying not to get irritated with her.

"I just need to get checked and if the prescription is correct, then I'll be back to raise hell with Lenscrafters. I just need confirmation that the prescription is correct," I said. She set my appointment and we hung up.

So I'm wearing my previous pair and everything is crisp like it should be, making me wonder if I really need new glasses anyway.
