Bossy Boots BearThe last couple of weeks have been busy, so I haven't been online much of late, mostly because of work, but also because I just wanted a bit of time away from it. Work included a trip to DC to teach a computer class. Here are a few odds and ends of the last couple of weeks.

Sunday (4/11) -- I found out the Lambda Rising Bookstore at Dupont Circle closed earlier this year. I'd not heard of this and was profoundly disappointed to see that empty store front when in DC. It was my favorite place to visit when in DC. I'll miss it. I used to get the coolest books, magazines, and comic books there.

Tuesday (4/13) -- Three presentations, five hours of lecture by me for the class. My reviews were good. One student left this comment on my evaluation: "Well done. Presenter added some spice w/ his jokes [rated all 5]". Can I say I'm "spicy"?

Wednesday (4/14) -- Saw a woman on the Metro with a full mustache. Not just the "shadow" but a real mustache like you'd see on a 18-year-old kid. Met up with the DC Movie Bears to see "Date Night," which was really funny!

Thursday (4/15) -- Class kept us there late. I went drinking and smoking cigars with some of the other instructors. The drinking was okay, the cigar left me a little queasy and green.

Friday (4/16) -- Some old lady kept spraying perfume on the plane ride home. It got in the air handling system. Ugh...

Cool PotterySaturday & Sunday -- six hours of yard work. Nuff said...

Wednesday (4/21) -- I got a great gift from [livejournal.com profile] prisoncitybear in the mail. I admired a ceramic bowl he made and he sent it to me. It's really beautiful and I love the colors. The colors fit the living room, so I think I may put my drawing pencils/pens in it, which means I'll see it daily. Thanks so much Tom!
kybearfuzz: (Cartoon Mark)
I haven't done much drawing over the last couple of weeks. No reason other than work has kept me pretty busy. I would describe it as being on a roller coaster ride with no hills or valleys, just straight ahead and high speed. I did manage to draw one cartoon and colored it over the weekend. I'm finding more of cartoons seem to be involving men in kilts. I note [livejournal.com profile] madknits (top row, center) and his weekly kilties as influence. I've even considered buying a kilt myself. I've accumulated the kilt drawings of late below. The newest is first, with a kilted warrior asking for a godly boon.
