Miss Pettigrew Lives for A Day
Sep. 4th, 2008 07:46 amI went to the gym after work yesterday and ran for three miles. After my softball injury (yeah, I'm still milking it), I have been trying to get back to where I was in terms of distance. I managed three, but I had to walk some laps between mile two and mile three, which gave me a bit of time to admire the muscled hotness around the gym.

Miss Pettigrew Lives for A Day
When I got home, my Netflix movie arrived for the day and it was good for relaxing. Miss Pettigrew Lives for A Day was a period comedy I wanted to catch at the theater but I never had time while it was running. A homeless governess in pre-WWII London steals a job opportunity and ends up as a social secretary for an American club singer. The singer is juggling three men involved in her career and Miss Pettigrew uses her quick wit to keep the young lady out of trouble and keep herself off the street.
The movie humor is very subtle and the scenery is impressive. McDormand plays the lead so well. She really did earn that Oscar. The movie also stars Amy Adams and Lee Pace ("Pushing Daisies"). I'd definitely watch it again and am thinking of buying the DVD.
