On the Softball Sidelines
Jun. 19th, 2007 08:31 amFirst, thanks to all who responded to the LCD versus Plasma TV query. I really appreciate the input. Now I just need to look where to buy.
I'm becoming the king of the 13 hour days (though I am sure
mikiedoggie beats me hands down for number of hours. Yesterday was one of those long ones. I didn't finish work until 9 PM, but luckily I was near the softball field and showed up, in work clothes, to see my team the Titans take the field.
Many asked why I wasn't dressed to play and after I told them I was at work and that they had enough players, I decided to sit it out and play spectator instead with
lougarou and
shimbexprovides. It certainly is a different perspective. I felt a bit guilty sitting the game out, but they played fine without me. In response I played waiter for several guys wanting beer and/or coke from the concession stand.
Actually, it was a lot of fun to sit with the guys and pick out the players on the field we thought were cute! The burly daddy bear on first base on the opposing team (Knox Jocks) has always caught my eye. That bear can run when necessary.
It was a late night though, the game ending around 11:30 PM, but we won. Don't ask me the score, I wasn't keeping track. Our next game is 7:40 PM next Monday.
