"I have superpowers," he confesses in The Covenant
Nothing like sleeping in on a Saturday followed by a nap. I'm loving this Autumn weather, perfect for me where I don't have to go out and immediate start sweating.
I caught a matinee of The Covenant. The story revolves around four private school guys called the Sons of Ipswich who are the descendants of powerful witches. The boys enjoy using their powers, even though they have detrimental effects on them long term. The leader of the pack, Caleb, falls for the new girl at school, who appears at the same time as a new guy who turns out to be another witchy descendant who craves more power and sets his sights on the Sons of Ipswich to get it.
The movie stars Steven Strait, who played Warren Peace, the pyrokinetic hero from Sky High. He seriously must work out because he looks good, even though he isn't what I generally go for. The acting isn't exceptional and the plot is somewhat weak, but it kept me entertained. I thought the ending was relatively quick, but left open for potential sequels. The special effects were relatively good (especially the car explosion and reassembly as seen in previews).
Did I enjoy the movie? Yeah, it was fun.
Would I see it again? I could.
Buy the DVD? Hmmmm.... not sure. Maybe if it was on sale or used.
