Yard Work and the Napping afterwards...

This weekend was primarily for getting things in order before the trip. I was just going to spruce up the yard and bushes, but my neighbor noted that the tree next to thehouse had branches literally laying on the roof, not a good thing. So he and I spent two hours cutting the branches and cleaning the gutters. I have a great neighbor! Thankfully, no damage to the roof.

After the heat and the four hours of yard work, sweaty, tired, shirtless and a bit sunburned, I grabbed a shower and went to Wally World and then Arby's for a very late lunch. I'd planned to get more stuff done, but I was tired. I stretched out on my bed with the anticipation of getting up in a few minutes. Five hours later, I woke up and cursed at myself.

I chatted a bit tonight online and called the other hotels in Ireland and England to see what internet access they had available. I'm good in that two of the three have WIFI networks, so the iBook will get some use over there.

Okay.. I'm beat, time for bed.. again. So much to do tomorrow.. need to get my checklist for the trip together.

Breakfast at Panera...

Breakfast at Panera is always a good thing. I rarely get to sit and enjoy it, usually grab it to go on the way to work. While chatting online, I was observing any cute guys that were standing in line for a bagel and one cutie caught my eye -- dark hair, beard, young college student type, looking disheveled, like he'd gotten out of bed about 10 minutes ago. Oh, he was cute.

I was chatting with a friend on 411 and telling him how disappointed I was that Paul (as I had named the object of my lust) had left. Our exchange went something (paraphrasing) like this:

411 buddy: Awww... sorry...
Me: My heart will go on...
411 buddy: I'm sure it will, Celine...
Me: Oh, I'd make three of her!
411 buddy: You're much cuter than Celine.
Me: Um.... thanks?
411 buddy: LOL.. I guess that wasn't much of a compliment...

LOL! I told my buddy that I wouldn't say who he was, but the comment made me laugh out loud. I needed that.

Making a List, Checking it Twice

The checklist as of today

Before any foreign trip, I always make a list to make sure I've paid the bills, bought anything I need, and pray I don't forget anything. Because the trip is three weeks long, I often worry if I've forgotten to pay a bill or turn down the thermostat. I'm getting really excited, but also very antsy. It's nothing new, I get this way every trip. It's hard to believe that I'll be in Ireland this time next week....
