Working on the Yard on a Day Off
May. 10th, 2005 03:32 pmI woke up very late this morning (at least for me) and felt a bit out of sorts. When I'm in between inspections I often take a day off, so this was it. I wanted to work on the yard, so I called my boss and got permission to skip work today.
I stopped off at the bank to make sure my ATM/Debit card was in the ATM. The teller told me that it was there and I could have it back. I asked her if it still worked, as the customer service phone operator told me they'd deactivate the card. She checked and it was dead, darn it. She told me that they don't destroy them immediately and could have picked up the card instead of having it canceled. Oh well...
Leaving the bank, I went to KMart and picked up 15 forty pound bags of top soil to cover the flower beds. I still need to buy flowers to plant, but all in good time. Needless to say, I'm now exhausted and sore from pulling weeds and lugging those bags of dirt all over the front yard. The yard looks good though, so I guess it was worth it. And I still need to put down mulch at some point.. ugh...
