Freakishly Good Monday
May. 9th, 2005 03:24 pmI'm tempted to call Father HappyPants at the local Catholic church to see if Hell has indeed frozen over, but he usually just tries to tempt me with chocolate to come over and be converted. Nice try, Father, but I'm wise to your wickedness. If Father BurlyBear is available though, let me know. I love chocolate. It's a frozen Hell kind of day here though, in that it's been GREAT!
I've somehow managed to get a lot of work done with minimal interruption. When I went to lunch at Steak & Shake with the work gang, I was tempted by the image of a Coffee Mocha milkshake. Damn this low carb diet! Since I didn't get Cold Stone Creamery ice cream the other night due to the long lines, I felt my resolve kick away and ordered me the Mocha goodness. Oh, it was sheer Heaven to slurp that down. I know it sounds dirty for you gutter-minded friends of mine, and there are thankfully many of you, and it was on a par with the imagery you are thinking. It's been so long and it was so good! The buzz of caffeine and sugar is doing wonders for my attitude.
Reality came back around 1 PM, turning in another report to my boss. I clued my supervisor in that I did an exceptional job on this feed mill inspection and I'd expect my cash award in the next couple of weeks for it. He responded with a chuckle and a hand gesture letting me know that I was number "1"... I think. Oh well... There goes that monogrammed whoopie cushion I was planning to get for his birthday.
Even the Bimbo has been out of sight. Although, I have to admit, I've sat at my desk today concentrating, imagining her head shrinking to the size of agate marble. Nature abhors a vacuum and I'm not too fond of it myself. If reality is indeed all in my head, I figured it was at least worth a shot. Who knows? It may have worked, but I'm too uninterested to check.
