First, welcome to my journal and to LJ in general a couple of really nice guys: [livejournal.com profile] anziulewicz, who is a handsome, burly friend of mine from Bear411, and [livejournal.com profile] gablea2, of whom I recently posted about, my "fabulous" Obi-Wan.

I'm working back home this week, inspecting little feed mills in southeastern KY. It's not too bad to stop in and see family while driving around here. Strangely enough, I'd swear I ran into a guy today who was checking me out at one of the feed mills. His family owns the place and he was helping me find some things and answering questions when the chit chat got to whether I was married or not. I told him that I was to be the last of my siblings to take that plunge. I returned the question to him and asked him if he'd every married and he'd said no. He's about 40 something, tall, balding, big thick graying mustache, not bad really. He then segued into a really awkward joke about "pussy," which I think was a cover.

On my way to my car to leave, I turned around and he'd followed me outside and was telling me to be careful as some roads were still slick. It's very courteous of him, but it's also never happened in all of the places I've inspected. My radar isn't that good, but this guy was registering on my detector. LOL.. oh well, I never said my job wasn't interesting.

After work today I went to see Mom and sit a spell with her. My sister showed up after work and I offered to buy her dinner. We went to the Depot on Main, which is one of the new restaurants in town.

I immediately recognized our waiter "Rob" from when he worked at another local restaurant. He's a cute graying cub sort, stocky and furry with a nice raspy voice. The sis and I both believe he's family, which suits me just fine ;) I felt guilty not calling the twin to see if he wanted to go. After we ate out without him before at one of town's new alcohol-serving restaurants, he was mad at us for two days.

An idea developed quickly to deal with the problem. Like Jack and Karen on Will & Grace, we told Rob on one of his passes by to check on us that we were going to call him "Wendy." We explained the twin-getting-mad-at-us scenario and that we wanted to call him that so when he asked we could say that we ate at "Wendy's." He was game and his tip reflected that.

"Wendy"... it's better, Nescafe?
