It looks like we may see the end of some of the Crossgen stories afterall. Disney apparently has bought the rights to the comic book line. The full story here:

I admit that I'm happy about this. I was just getting interested in "The War" when Crossgen went belly-up. I hate unintentional cliffhangers. Of course, it's no guarantee they will resume printing them and I doubt they can get the creative team back together. Hope is good though.

Update: I almost forgot to wish a happy birthday to the very handsome [livejournal.com profile] shortstackbear! Hope it's a good one Tim! Hugs!

I got off work at my usual time, a good day done. I drive home, get out of the car, get my mail, and tweak the garage door opener to make it easier to raise. I pull the car into the garage and hear a hissing noise.. an all too familiar noise. I walk around the car and note the head of a screw peaking out of my rear tire tread. Grrrrrr! The day just went sour.

I drive my car to a Tires Plus down the road from my neighborhood. The mechanic that comes out to my car says it'll take about 15 minutes. The inside manager makes sure I realize that it may be 7 PM before I get my tire fixed (I got there at 4:45 PM). I think he said this in hopes that I would take it elsewhere. Unfortunately, I'm stuck and, fortunately, not easily intimidated.

"Well," I said sternly, "I guess you'd best get used to me being here for a while then."

During the next hour, I overheard him telling someone on the phone that its easier to buy a new tire than to plug one. Nice try fella, I think, just fix the damn tire.

Near 6 PM, my tire is fixed and I'm out the door, $25 poorer, but they showed me the screw that I had apparently run over. It's over two inches long! Here's the culprit that violated my tire without so much as buying it dinner:

my tire violator

I hope tomorrow is better....
