Spending Time with Mom
Nov. 13th, 2004 01:14 pmAfter work yesterday, I stopped by the grocery and headed home. Mom and my stepdad showed up about a half hour later. Mom always looks through the house when she comes here, checking out new photos or pictures on display.
I took them to dinner at the Claddagh Irish Pub. My mom has rarely eaten somewhere out like this, my hometown has very little to offer in terms of good sitdown restaurants. Mom freaks out a bit on the prices. She doesn't like me taking her out to dinner, but that's what kids are for. Dinner was excellent. Afterwards, we went walking about and ended up in the Barnes & Noble Booksellers. Mom is like me, she loves bookstores. We ended up walking around in there for two hours. She found a few little things, even though I offered to get her several books.
This morning, it was coffee and Gilmore Girls on DVD. Mom had never seen the show. Since we have similar senses of humor, I figured she would enjoy it. A few close calls as Mom nearly found some of my more erotic drawings and such. Sigh.. I don't think she could quite handle that.. :)
