I thought I had left with plenty of time to get to the park, but thanks to the wonderful Cincinnati traffic, I sat perfectly still on the interstate for an hour. I swear, I think the insane asylum let loose the nuts and handed them driver's licenses as parting gifts.
I got to the park an hour late. I had an extra ticket and was going to sell it, but I was so late and so pissed that I didn't feel like being a kinder, gentler Mark in trying to sell it. So, I decided to hand it off to the first cute bear I saw. I found a nice looking daddy bear coming up to the ticket booth, asked him if he was buying a ticket and just handed it to him. With a puzzled look on his face, I just told him to enjoy it and ran into the park. I was running late meeting the LJ crowd at the Eiffel Tower. I hung out with
cincycub,
mikiedoggie,
_decibel_ and his honey Chris,
booboobob and his buddy, and
thespisgeoff and his hubby Glenn.
For the next five hours, we ran all over the place, riding every ride with no lines and having dinner watching a drag show. I was molested by a lesbian or fag hag on the first ride. Derek took a VIDEO of my assault, which I'm sure he'll post at some point. If I weren't gay before, I certainly am now. Moral of the story, never tell a woman that you've never been with one. She'll take it as a challenge. :P
I wish I had gotten pics of the drag show, but my shots didn't turn out that well of the show. I rode Delirium four times, the Beast twice, the Vortex twice, the Italian Job twice, Tomb Raider and Outer Limits.. and more and more. Needless to say, I was exhausted when I got home, but it was a good exhausted. For those that couldn't make it this year, we missed ya :)
Saturday morning,
cincycub Brian and
mikiedoggie Mike made brunch for some of us. Included in the fun was
aaron1978 and Sean,
prisonbitch Bob (who I met for the first time), and
nonljeric. The food was great -- biscuits and sausage gravy, french toast, hash, goetta, and fruit, washed down with mimosas :) SOOOOO Good!!!
Brian, Mikie, Bob and I made our way afterward to Milford to catch a matinee of Serenity. Now I had never seen the Firefly series, but I thought the movie was terrific. I thought it was easy to follow without knowing the background. Full of great action, funny dialogue, and good special effects, the movie was very entertaining. It made me really miss Buffy, because you can really recognize the writing.
I slept so hard Saturday night, the last couple of days plus the relief of the end of my hell month at work really wore me out. I managed to work out and then meet Brian and Mikie at Skyline Chili for lunch.
Afterward, we went to the Levee to check out the Purple People Bridge and the Serpentine Wall. It was such a great day outside, lots of pictures got taken. I said later to Brian and Mike and went shopping to pick up the latest season of Gilmore Girls on DVD and other stuff.
Tonight was just TV -- new Charmed and American Dad and laundry. I am so tired, I could use another day off... :)
Update: The wicked, wicked man known as
_decibel_ Derek has posted the video of my Pride Night molestation! Enjoy! :)
