Whew! One more day and the hectic life of late will slide back into the norm for a while. I can't wait for that to happen. I am so looking forward to tomorrow night.

On a sad note, there is a better than average chance that [livejournal.com profile] fritzsea will not be coming. Due to his coworker's uncoordinated kid flying over his bicycle handle bars and breaking a bone, he has to cover teaching her class today and may not be able to get a flight to Cincinnati. I don't sound bitter, do I? Still, there is a chance he may be here, but he's flying standby which is iffy at best. Fingers crossed for you, Fritz :)

As I was getting caffeinated this morning, I came across this story on Yahoo News about how flight attendants are boycotting Jodie Foster's new flick Flightplan, which got rave reviews from yours truly. Don't read the story if you haven't seen the flick because there are spoilers inside. However, the flight attendants are pissed because they say the movie shows the attendants as being rude and unhelpful. I beg to differ, I thought that they behaved as you would expect in the movie's storyline and tense situation. And to play devil's advocate, I have been on flights where the attendants have been absolute bitches. It's rare, I admit, but they do exist.

This poses an interesting quandry. Have most people lost the ability to laugh at themselves? To the point where we boycott movies because we don't like how people in our profession are portrayed? Seems silly to me for them to worry about stereotyping an entire work industry so generally just because of the characterization in one movie.
