Favorite Friends' Entries...
Sep. 13th, 2005 07:27 pmI am no good at creating meme's really. A thought crossed my mind earlier today, about how I often go back and read emails that are complimentary or fun at work. I do the same thing on LJ. Some entries from my friends' list often make me smile and I have found myself going through some entries during my more recent and stressful days. I picked out five favorites to post here (these were public entries, so I hope the owners don't mind, if so let me know).
Dan (
stripedtiger) is one of the best writers I've come across on LJ. His wit and tales ring of Erma Bombeck, just normal observations told with great humor and flair. It reads like a scene from Gilmore Girls.. if it were made on Showtime and included occasional swearing. My favorite entry of his was a dialogue between his mother and him around Christmas time last year.
Chris (
chrisglass) is always a bright spot on LJ. His entries are always accompanied by beautifully vivid and often poignant photos. I enjoy his humor and his somewhat unique way of seeing the world. It's like opening the cereal box and finding out that the cereal company screwed up and filled it only with toys. I couldn't find my ultimate favorite entry of his, but this one runs a pretty close second. Not only is it educational, but the end result is very cool. I may have to try this sometime.
Brian (
cincycub) is a great friend, always fun to be around. I always enjoy reading the local news through Brian, who is always concerned with Cincinnati events. He's a proud Cincinnatian. :) Brian was one of those who made one of lipsynch videos because "Chris Glass made him do it." Who knew he'd be so good at it, singing as Avril LaVigne's Sk8ter Boi.
Raph (
raphbearish) always takes the best vacations, New York and recently Atlanta, hanging out with folks from LJ. His New York vacation was one of pure envy from me, not only because he got to hang out with
mat_t and
kakinry, but got to take a tour of DC Comics! Ah, at least I get to live vicariously through the pictures.
Derek (
_decibel_) was one of the first guys I met after I came out and his shining personality has always been tons of fun. Derek was nice enough to take a picture for me on his last birthday at Hamburger Mary's. Nothing makes the homphobic twin's blood pressure rise than a picture of his brother and the drag queen he told him that he'll marry someday. Ain't life wicked...?
So, if you're feeling up to it, find some great and memorable entries of friends of your own and post the links :)
