New Ross Day Two...

kybearfuzz...is going a bit better than day one. I went to bed about 9 PM last night because I was beat, but was awakened to the sounds of drunken singing ... lots of drunken singing ... around 4 AM. Apparently when the library bar (remind me to tell you about that) closed, everyone moved to the front porch of the hotel to sober up. The number of voices got fewer and fewer as I heard a single car driving everyone home. I was half tempted to get dressed and join them, but I figured the drunks wouldn't enjoy having their pictures taken by a half-asleep American.
I've been walking around the town today and have enjoyed myself actually. It's exactly what a small Irish town is thought to be, very close streets, but comfortable, beautifully bright colored storefronts. I've been taking pictures around town, garnering some strange looks from folks, but that is life. The weather is overcast and windy and threatening rain, but has so far held off, thank goodness.
The tourist center has internet access for 2 Euro for 20 minutes, which is better, but I have been to them where you get an hour for that price. Oh well, at least the internet here is faster than the hotel. The only negative is that I cannot upload any pics, so they'll have to wait.
There is a lot of tourist attractions in the area, but none really close to New Ross, except the Dunbrody Immigrant Ship, a literal museum in the ship, which set sail on June 27th and wont return until after I've left. I'll keep myself occupied I'm sure.
I have noticed a few things about facial hair in Ireland. It seems to be reserved more for the older gents. Not a lot of people my age have it here, but most men in their 50's and 60's have some really handsome beards. I'm trying to snag pictures when I can.
