Tuesday....
Jun. 14th, 2005 02:54 pmIt's been a rather dreary day here in the office. So many of my coworkers are out for various reaons, I'm writing a report that is unbelievably dull, I've been drowsy all day, and I'm getting more and more antsy about my work trip. Couple that with some personal issues and my overall lethargy and you have my current mood. I thought about taking off early today, but the thunderstorm that rolled into the area killed that idea.
I was thinking about it being only Tuesday and I remembered a book called "Tuesday" by David Wiesner. It's a children's picture book about an event where all of the lily pads suddenly start floating and the frogs fly rampantly throughout a small town in the middle of the night.

Tuesday by David Wiesner
The book has always made me grin and the artwork is beautiful. I think this office could use some inspired lunacy today.... now where are my damn whoopee cushions....

Date: 2005-06-14 08:01 pm (UTC)whoppie cushions would definitely be high in demand on this ho-hum, no-one-seems-to-be-in-a-good-mood kind of day. :)

Date: 2005-06-15 06:07 pm (UTC)Ever since I was young child reading Maurice Sendak's illustrated book "Little Bear", I have enjoyed finding children's books with great artwork as well. Probably my current enjoyment has to do with the fact that I want to be an elementary school teacher too, but I love it regardless.
One of my favorite illustrated children's books is "The Last Resort" by J. Patrick Lewis, illustrated by Roberto Innocenti and, of course anything by Maurice Sendak. :)

Date: 2005-06-14 11:41 pm (UTC)I'll have nightmares tonight. My brother used to chase me with frogs/garter snakes/other small slimy creatures. No wonder I don't like being outside.
