After a morning at the gym and stopping off at the ATM, I changed and went over to [livejournal.com profile] cincycub's house so we could head to the Gallery Hop in Columbus, OH. Stupid me realized that I didn't have my debit card with me. In a panic, I wondered what the heck I had done with it. Since I last used it at the ATM, I thought I likely left in it the ATM. Brilliant! I called my bank would told me that no other charges had been placed on the card and that they would cancel it. Apparently, when you leave it in the ATM, it sucks it back in after 10 seconds and destroys it. So, I'm without my ATM/debit card for a week or so.

In Columbus, we met up with [livejournal.com profile] stripedtiger and [livejournal.com profile] schnitz_mi. After a delicious dinner at the Happy Greek restaurant, we walked up and down High Street, checking out all the cool galleries. I really like The Open Book there, such a cool gay bookstore, very clean and very stylish. I'd love a place like that here in the Cincinnati area. It was a very good time, I'll have to head out that way again in the future.

After a late drive back (and sorry I conked out on you for a bit Brian, I'm a bad co-pilot), I sleep long and hard and just got up about an hour ago. Very tired.

And before I forget, happy graduation to [livejournal.com profile] mississippicub who just got his PhD! Way to go, Doc! :)

Glad you had a good time. A company got a hold of my number once and tried to charge a bunch of stuff to it. It took the bank a week to get me a new card. I don't know how we ever lived without debit cards.

I'm not sure why in the world I would have forgotten it. On occasion, I use one of those ATM that only require you to swipe the card and not insert it, so maybe I thought I still had it. Who knows?

.. and I use mine all the time, so I'm going ot feel rather lost this week.

I thought of you last night as we were checking out the art galleries. It's something I know you would love!

I'm sorry I missed you too, but I know you had family stuff going on this weekend. There will be other hops I'll be attending, I'm sure.

The gallery hop sounds way cool. How often does it happen?

They do it on the first Saturday of every month. It's a lot of fun.

The Open Book sounds VERY promising. Places like that are far and few between in Baltimore, sadly. We've got one gay book store in the entire city and it's so small you'll develop claustrophobia before leaving.

The one here in Cincinnati serves its purpose, but it's not a very inviting place, sadly. Very small and dingy.

The one here is called Lambda Rising. It used to be even smaller and reminded me of that creepy adult bookstore Dee Wallace Stone went in before she got attacked in THE HOWLING. They redid it awhile ago and it now resembles a reading room at the public library.

LOL.. I've been to the Lambda Rising store in DC, I liked that one, very nice place.

Yeah, the DC one is a lot more lively and situated in a better area. The B'more store has definite parking issues and a number of staff members that'd benefit from an increase in their bi-polar medication :)

Awwww, I could've offered you free off-street parking for the Hop. :)

LOL... we had free parking, we parked at Dan's place. I was hoping we'd run into you that night.
