The Things I Did Today...
Oct. 11th, 2003 11:00 pmIt was responsibility day in my neighborhood. I slept in late. Flying really takes it out of me and yesterday's rush to get to the airport, fly to CVG, and get home wasted me more than I thought.
After getting up around noon, I ended up mowing the yard and it really needed it. When I got finished with that, I decided to go rent a Rug Doctor to clean the carpets. It's something I've been planning to do since the Spring, but never got around to it with my traveling. So several hours and lots of wet carpet later, the house is drying and I'm beat. Still, got a lot done today.
Went and got Donato's Pizza for dinner (the kitchen has furniture from other rooms blocking the stove until the carpet dries). I have to say that I saw a Supermodel beauty working there. Now, I know I bat for the other team, but even I know a beautiful girl when I see one. Hair in a ponytail and no apparent make-up, she still has the real beauty that Marilyn Monroe had before the peroxide got hold of her. While waiting for my pizza, I watched her give orders, cut pizza, answer the phone, take down orders, etc., doing many of these tasks at the same time. I was duly impressed. She looks to be a college girl and I admit that the business who ends up getting her as an employee is going to be very lucky.
Well, I'm tired and my bed is looking awfully soft and inviting right now. Tomorrow I think I'll hit the movies. Which one? Not sure yet.

Date: 2003-10-12 07:06 am (UTC)I bought a home steam cleaner back in the Spring, because I have a lot of carpet and a lot of pets, and I'd probably end up having my carpet professionally cleaned twice a year minimum to the tune of about $150 a pop. For about $300, I can do it myself anytime I want to (and I do it 3-4x a year now, so this carpet looks about as good as it's gonna get!:)
