Lawsuits and B. O.
Feb. 17th, 2005 05:14 pmI was just watching the news and apparently a local family is suing their child's school district for $50,000. Why? Because a teacher told their child to spray himself with Lysol because he had bad body odor. The child suffered taunting from the other kids and obviously vast psychological damage.
The teacher has since retired and is obviously not the most tactful person on the planet, as he or she did this publicly and embarrassed the kid. However, I don't think the family deserves $50,000 because they have a embarrassed stinky kid. If anything, the family should take this as a sign that Junior needs some deodorant and a bath.
Naturally, if the student has some condition that causes this, that's a bit different, but since the news didn't mention it, I'm assuming he doesn't.
