Last night's dream was a weird one. I dreamt I was back in college with my college roommate Rick for my senior year at Berea. The strange part is that my roommate graduated the year before I did.

First, our dorm room was huge and connected to others, very fancy, which was nothing like our dorm room before. He and I were getting along as great as always, yet for some reason I felt the need to move to another dorm room. I ended up moving out while he was gone, to a awful dorm room with a slacker for a new roommate. I don't think I even unpacked in the new room.

When I went back to my see Rick, he had totally rearranged the room, but was upset that I had moved out without so much as telling him. He had shattered the TV, he said he had thrown it down the hall after finding out he was alone. I felt really bad and suddenly couldn't remember why in the world I had left and moved in the first place. I wanted to move back.

... Then this Amish family with four kids showed up for some reason. They had a newborn baby that had stiches in his armpit. Poor kid. They weren't moving in or anything, Rick seemed to know them, but I had no idea what the heck they were doing there.

Dreams are so freaking bizarre sometimes, but I guess they're meant to be. Still I should give my old roommate a call. I haven't talked to him in ages.

Sugar before bed will usually trigger freaky dreams for me. I hardly ever have them now (my rest is too important!) but I remember as a kid having a scary dream about the giant tumbleweeds from an episode of "Outer Limits" -- the weeds were invading our house, but in my dream my oldest sister calmly said to me, "You know it's just a dream, so why don't you just wake up?" That was maybe the freakiest part of it, because then I just said to myself "oh, yeah" and felt myself sinking out of the dream and waking up. Of course many other dreams have been FAR less linear or logical.

Usually, I enjoy my dreams, even the freaky ones. They are often reminders of things I should do, like getting in touch with my roommate from college after three years.
