kybearfuzz: (Oh Really??)

Today was my first real day of jury duty. As fate would have it, I made the selection. The defense attorney, in asking the potentials, decided to ask me publicly about one of my siblings known legal problems. I reported it on the initial juror form and he read it from there. Needless to say, I was not pleased. I requested to discuss it privately with the judge and counsel. I explained what I knew of the situation and sternly made sure the defense attorney knew I wasn't happy about having my family dirt thrown out in front of a group of strangers. He apologized, but I must have made an impression as I was discarded from the final jury group later. What a prick! I shouldn't expect more from a lawyer.

I made it to work for the afternoon. We are having our annual silent auction for charity. I submitted two pieces of art, framed and matted. One is a black and white shot of a tree and tire swing I took at a farm last Spring, the other is a cartoon cat in country clothes playing a fiddle. I put a minimum bid of $5, the photo is up to $18 and the toon is at $15. That certainly does good things for my ego.

I skipped the gym to get my Halloween costume done. I'm almost finished. I doubt I'll win first prize, but I think it looks good. I'll post a picture when I get it together for Friday.

If you don't win first prize, it's because you didn't put enough sequins in it. Sequins = class ;)
