I attacked the yard with my leaf blower again. It was windy today, so I felt like I fought a losing battle, but it was fun regardless. After clearing the yard and chatting online for a bit, I went to the new Wal-Mart Supercenter for some groceries. On the way over there, two people tailgated me. I felt like I had a sign on my car people were trying to read. Grrr...!
I have to admit a weakness. I love old horror movies from the 50's, 60's and 70's. While I love horror movies in general, these remind me of times when movies relied more on suspense and set-up to create a scary atmosphere, instead of relying heavily on gore. These are the flicks that Elvira would host on TV. I bought two cheap horror movies at Wal-Mart for five bucks each in one of those DVD bins. I can't wait to enjoy them.. maybe tonight.
After getting my stuff and back to my car, I saw this lady in a Miami University sweatshirt just leave her cart between two cars. This irritated me because the cart return was three spaces over from her. She was apparently too lazy to look for it and walk it over there. I hate that. I shot her a dirty look and shook my head, got out of the car and walked the cart to the return. No fingers from either party, but I hope she got a message.
Once home and fixing dinner, I made my weekly call to Mom. She strangely wanted to talk politics! That surprised me. She said that she didn't like what Kerry said about Cheney's daughter. While I think bringing her into it wasn't the best idea, Kerry's statement wasn't negative at all, and I told her that. She said she didn't like either candidate. I gave her all the reasons I'm voting for Kerry: Bush's marriage amendment attempts, the war we should never have started, our enormous deficit, his tax cuts for the rich, his shameful loosening of environmental restrictions, his wanting to outsource jobs, and his basic incompetency. Have I swayed her to choose one of them, preferably Kerry? I can only hope.
