Animated GIF Making

kybearfuzzOkay, I spent part of the evening reviewing some work and the rest learning a bit about GIF files. I play a computer guy at work, but I really lack some of the more fun knowledge.
Does anyone have an animated GIF maker program they would recommend that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I'm learning the basics with a somewhat outdated GIFBuilder program. I managed to create a Wonder Woman one I've wanted to try out, but the colors are grainy. What would you recommend I get? Remember that I'm a Mac Tramp. Thanks.
