kybearfuzz: (Grizzly Growl)

I had planned on having this issue done back in June, but work, life, and other odds & ends caused a bit of a delay. I managed to get all the pieces done during the week and I got the cover done last night.

The rest of the pages are behind the cut below, along with some issue notes.

The issue notes are below.

  • This is the longest issue I've produced with 31 pages and a cover. I thought about slapping a big "Extra-Sized Issue" thing on the cover, but decided that I liked the cover the way it was.

  • Speaking of the cover, I think this is definitely one of my favorites. I recycled the engagement photo from last issue to make the invitation card for the cover. It is a simple cover, and it conveys the story inside without a lot of fuss.

  • In readying the issue, I realized that a lot of fans will fill in a story-hole or two, but new readers might have questions. I should have been a bit more descriptive in how Grizzly can erase memories using his telepathic power.

  • This is the first issue where Echo has used Grizzly's Sonic Growl in battle.

  • This issue has a lot of our ancillary heroes in attendance at the wedding (and the bachelor party), including [livejournal.com profile] mikiedoggie, Focus, Universal Jack, Ricochet, Dynamo, Cloak, and Arctica. I wish I had been able to incorporate them into the fight, but I didn't feel that Stormy LaQueef was a villain that would require a dozen heroes or more to defeat.

  • The wedding and aftermath literally takes place during a 12-hour period, with a morning wedding, an early afternoon reception, a late afternoon battle with the villain, and the evening resolution. I've not heard of early morning weddings, but I can imagine a summer morning, outdoor wedding would be rather pretty.

  • I ended the issue with Gabe and Jerry getting into bed on their wedding night, but not rushing to have sex. I read an article some time back that a lot of married couples are so wiped out from the festivities that they forgo the usual wedding night activities. After the day they had, I just thought it was a fun way to end the issue. I'm sure the next morning is quite the love fest.
