I Have A Soul (a Kia Soul)

Friday, I got a text message from handsome salesperson Jeff from Carmax that my shipped car had arrived and asked when I could come and test drive it. I had paid a fee to have it transferred. I thought it would take a while to get here, but arrived in a couple of days, which surprised me. I wasn't ready to go buy it, having no plan whatsoever to get my other car home, as the Carmax is about 30+ miles away from my house.

I left work on Friday to test the car. I fell in love with it, the color, the way it handles, the amenities, etc. It is a 2015, has about 12K miles, and has a brief history as a rental car. So, thanks to my buddy Rob who agreed to drive me back to pick it up and my local bank who cut me a cashier's check for the car, I have a new ride.

A buddy asked me if I have named the car yet, which isn't something I've ever done and will require some thought if I chose to do it. I'll drive it to work tomorrow for the first time.

It's a nerd car, according to one of my friends, but what could be more appropriate for me.

I don't think of a Kia Soul as a nerd car. I find its styling distinctive .. and I said on FB, I really like the color.

I am not one of those people that can look at a car and tell what brand or model it is. Even I, with my untrained eye, can tell this is a Kia Soul!

Kia Soul is on my short list for possible car purchase. I just put (too much) money into fixing my current one up so may put off buying for a year or two but I'm definitely intrigued by the Soul. Right now I'm looking at that, the Mazda 5 and the Honda Civic. or nothing. LOL

A friend of mine today told me that this car is "totally you!" I like this idea. It's actually caused a bit of a stir, as my office folks are so used to seeing everyone's cars in the parking lot, that a new vehicle causes interest.

I put my Irish flag plate on the front of my car and most people figured it was mine :)

LOL! I went looking through the available cars and colors and this color just struck me as the one. It's not flashy, but different.

And perhaps it will keep me awake :)

I didn't. They weren't an option on this. It was a used car.
