I did get hit by a softball pretty hard a couple of years ago and it broke my nose in three places and I got a hairline fracture on my orbital, so a helmet probably makes some sense if you are on blood thinners. Goodness "nose" [rimshot], I probably would have bled out had I been on thinners when my nose broke. It was like Old Faithful the way it was gushing!
