It did actually. I managed to get a lot accomplished yesterday, closing out one project that had strangled me for nearly 2.5 years and get a few major points done on another. I like being productive. It was one of our holiday food days so there was all sorts of things to try. By lunchtime things had started to go south.

The twin sent me a text message that my sister's father-in-law, who lives across the street from her in the "holler" back home, passed away the night before. He'd been sick for a while with a muscular atrophy disease, so it wasn't a surprise, but still it was unexpected at the time. So, I'm heading to my hometown this weekend for the funernal.

After getting home I did my bicep workout and decided to get some dinner. The line at Chipotle was ungodly long and while I was venturing to some place else, I bumped the car in front of me at a red light. I thought the car had pulled out, so I looked back to see if traffic was coming and as I eased forward, she'd stopped. She was a very nice college student, already frazzled from her final exams, and the damage to both of our cars is cosmetic (scratches mainly). We exchanged insurance info and went on, but it cast a pretty strong pallor on the rest of my night.

Wouldn't it be great if we could reset time in a small window of opportunity. Not an hour so you could be greedy and win the lottery or anything, but just jump back five minutes to prevent these things that wreck a night.

I remember reading a old story in the "Legion of Super-Heroes" comic about Dream Girl's homeworld of Naltor, where everyone can predict the future. In her world, accidents are often avoided, and if they aren't they usually never go to court because people have foreseen the outcome already and just deal with it. It definitely would be useful.

At least the weekend is upon us. Happy Friday!

I hope today is a better day for you - full of events you would like to have repeat and free of the reset worthy ones. May the funeral be gentle on your family and the good memories bring comfort.

Sorry your day went downhill so fast. My condolences to you and your family. Fortitude to you for the funeral and family stuff.....

Odd thing, I almost clipped someone last night on the way home from work--they stopped turning into a parking lot driveway suddenly and I had to swerve around them-almost got the edge of their bumper.
And I was right by a Chipotle!

I sense a plot line for a new comic book!
