Purple and Royalty

Though I didn't plan it, I wore a purple shirt to work today. Fitting I suppose as the Royal Wedding happened.

I admit that I don't get gushy at weddings, but I can see the appeal that so many have for seeing the Royal Wedding unfold today. It doesn't happen often and to have such grand events televised allows people to share in the moment. A piece of history to remember that isn't filled with tragedy.

I didn't catch but a few moments of it this morning. I saw the part where they exchanged vows and saw Princess Beatrice online wearing that god-awful hat. Someone played a cruel joke on that lady. It's fit for a queen alright, a drag queen. I can almost see the photoshop pics and icons now. It's Aretha's inaugural hat all over again.

Still it's Friday, the sun is out, and there is a newly married couple celebrating out there somewhere. If I were home, I'd do a photoshop of my own probably.

A queen is a queen, honey. It's all about the show. Now just stand back and see how long it takes those hats to replicate themselves in every drag revue from the West End to LA.
