Back in October, I had my eyes examined and got my new prescription. It hadn't changed hardly at all at the time. In fact, the optometrist said the change was so slight, that my current specs would be fine for a while. So I was in no hurry to get new glasses.

While in DC last week, I noticed that things were a bit fuzzier from the back of the room as I was used to seeing them, just one eye in particular really, so I figured that I probably should go ahead and get my new glasses. In addition, my state tax return had been deposited so it was a good time to get them.

Granny ShadesSo after lunch, I drove to the Lenscrafters in the Florence (Y'All) Mall and they were busy. So I picked out my frames and waited an hour to be seen. Not every pair made me look good as you can see. Still, it made me want a bottle of Volly and call everyone "Sweetie Dahling..."

After getting all the bells and whistles taken care of, my glasses were sent to the lab and I was told to return in an hour. So I drove to Sam's Club and Half-Price Books to get some odds and ends and showed up back in Lenscrafters exactly an hour later. I put my name on the list and then had to wait another hour to get fitted, or whatever. I was starting to get pretty unhappy.

So the young lady finally called my name and told me that they had just gone through the final QA.... which tells me that they weren't ready in an hour. Oh well. So I look at them and the "polish" I paid for on the rimless area wasn't done. I said it didn't look polished to me and she agreed, so she sent them back to the lab and said it would take another 20 minutes. Grrrr!

So a quick shopping trip to JCPenney and a stop at the restroom and I finally got them. They look pretty much like my old ones without the bottom rim on the lens. I'll post pics of it at some time. At this point, I was just happy to leave Lenscrafters.
