kybearfuzz: (Dreaming)

I just had a mid-morning nap dream. I suspect part of it was fueled by my intentions for the week off.

In this dream, I had recently purchase an amazingly huge house, bordering on the idea of a mansion, though I only remember the interior. It was at least a two story home, with a large foyer that was open on the two floors.

I had just moved in and was clearing wallpaper from the walls in one of the bedrooms. The previous owner was either a young man or they had a young 20-something son living at home. He was had longer blond hair, stringy, that hung over his ears. He had a thin mustache, a bit of scruff on his chin, and thick eyebrows (he reminded me of Bucky Covington). He had died in the house, but I never determined if it was suicide or something else. The bedroom was his. The wallpaper was coming down easily when I heard a skittering noise and saw a small bunny run behind the door from under the bed. A bark came next as a dog came from under the bed. I scared off the dog who ran out the door and cornered the bunny and caught him. At first I thought that there was hole to the outside under the bed, but as I walked the bunny out of the bedroom it occurred to me that I was on the second floor.

As I let the bunny go, this army of pets came roaming down my patio, small dogs and cats and a group of kids running them by. One of them asked me about the dog I'd seen and I told him I had just shoo'ed him away. The kids herded the pets forward and I walked down my long patio back into the house.

In the main foyer, I found shelves that needed to be replaced and an old gun cabinet. I opened the gun cabinet and found it empty with darkened stains on the back panel where the guns used to rest. I wondered why the owners would leave the cabinet behind. As I was closing the door, I noticed two small rifles on the side of the cabinet. I picked them up, checked that they were unloaded, and was preparing to put them away when I heard a noise. I grabbed one of the guns and figured it would scare away whoever it was. Coming down the stairs was members of my family, especially my noisy aunt Beverly, who apparently had come to visit and see the house. I quickly dropped the gun to my side and hid it behind me.

The scene cuts away to a woman in a tattoo/piercing parlor where a young lady had done a poor job adding a nose stud to a customer. I remember seeing her picture in the son's bedroom. The scene cuts again to graveyard where the graves of the son and his girlfriend rests in the same tomb. Outside the tomb was a stone statue of the face of Jesus. The tomb has a glass interior. and between the two graves was a stone tablet with an ornate cross on it.

I did a double take on the cross as I swore I thought it was upside down, but found it right side up on second glance. I was there investigating the son's death it seemed, based on troubling things I had encountered in the house, but I don't recall anything more than what I'd written here. Not finding anything there, I started to walk away when I saw the cross turn again, back to it's upside down position. I kept walking away and noticed the statue of the face of Jesus changing. From His usual visage, it turned into the devilishly grinning face of the dead son, his lips pulled back revealing fanged teeth.

Not sure what was going on, I turned to run... and then woke up. While I was relieved to realize I was in my house, I was a bit sad as the other house had so much more room :)

Well, at least now you know the price of having more room *grin*

I seldom remember enough of my own dreams to give such a detailed and entertaining account.

Dr. Dream prescribes: go see "Inception"...sounds like you're good and ready for it * Bwah-ha-ha! *
