Snow, Movies, Etc.

The weather has turned on us again. While we only have a dusting of snow so far, I'm sure it's turned driving to work today into a small disaster. I actually do like the snow, it certainly makes everything look so much cleaner.

Jim Borgman, the former editorial cartoonist for the Cincinnati Enquirer and current artist on the comic strip "Zits," always did an annual cartoon about how people react to the snow. It usually had a man pushing a cart full of groceries with a single snow flake falling, the man screaming "We're all gonna die!" After getting home yesterday from work, the snow flakes were HUGE! So I tried to get a shot of me in the surrounding snow fall only to have this giant flake settle on my eyebrow.

I watched two great movies last night from Netflix. The first was "Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog" which was wonderful! I definitely need to get the soundtrack. The second was called "The Tournament," where a group of assassins get together for a competition of last man standing. A local priest inadvertantly gets caught up in the game and one of the assassins takes him under her wing until gets safe. Lots of gore, lots of action, naked strippers, big things blowing up, etc., so just mindless guy-style entertainment.

I drew this image of Grizzly while watching the movie. I bought some ink brush pens and thought I'd give it a go without sketching the image first. Some things are out of proportion, but I didn't think it turned out to badly.

I found Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog funny and surprisingly moving at the end. And yes, the songs were incredibly catchy!
