iPhone Mania

Well, this weekend I took the plunge and bought an iPhone. After going to many a movie, bar, and stage play and seeing the large sea of iPhones out there, I figured it was time. I have to admit, I'm loving it. I've downloaded all sorts of applications, some free, others dirt-cheap. My wallpaper, like my old phone, is my Grizzly toon (the 2009 update version). I also love the camera and took this narcissistic pic this morning (another red shirt photo... hmmm). The beard makes my face look fuller.

Question: How many folks have a case for theirs? I hate just carting it around in my pocket for fear I'll scratch it. Any thoughts?

Saturday -- Sordid Lives the movie and game night with the guys. Too fun! Last night, I did the final outline for the third Grizzly & the Bear Patrol installment. Setting the pages tonight I think.

you'll want a case, or at least a protective film. I drop mine more than I would care to admit to, so a case was a great investment.

I've a rubberized case for my iPhone. It gives a grippier surface to hold onto and it provides some cushion when it's dropped.

I got mine a month ago and luv it! I have one of the silicone cases and it's pretty good. So many apps, so little time!

I think everyone I know has a case for their iPhones. Mine is an orange rubber case that has a great grip feel to it. You should also buy one of the plastic covers for the face of the phone. They are about $20 for 2, but I have had my phone for 2 years now and there's not a scratch on it. The case is more about me worrying about dropping it.

As a government employee, AT&T should be offering you some type of discount. I know working in academe knocked 15 percent off the monthly iPhone rates.....

I resisted a case for a while but it's honestly been a really good idea. The case gets pretty grungy with all the swiping and dust and cat hair and such.

I had a case for mine but took it out a few months back and never put it back in. So far the phone is fine.

I love my iPhone.

I have the aforementioned rubber case, and it came with a few of the plactic screen protectors.

The only parts of the phone you'll get scratches on are the metal rim around the front of the phone and the glossy back. The display itself uses optical quality glass, so it doesn't scratch easily at all.

For reference, I have an original 4GB model from July 2007. Never used a case, and I've even dropped it a few times.
