Getting Through this Work Week and More

... and sometimes it's more...

• I was feeling like drawing last night. Nothing like a "Big Bone Lick" tee-shirt. Plus I got to try out some new archival ink pens I bought.
  
• I spent most of the afternoon yesterday at the scanner/photocopier. I admit, I enjoy doing some busy work duties at times. It makes me feel useful without the stress of having to make major decisions.
  
• My office is moving our district conference to the last week of May, so my foreign work trip may be in jeopardy as I can't miss the conference. No one misses the conference.
  
• Heading to DC on Sunday for a couple of weeks for training. I had to buy a new suitcase as my old one is showing the ravages of multiple trips to DC and transatlantic travel.
  
• I watched the latest episode of RuPaul's Drag Race last night. It's getting down to the best of them, but there is one I can't believe is still in it. I wont give it away, but ... dang...

"Archival" when used to describe pens can be a vague advertising promise. Archival tends to describe products that don't contain acids that will age or yellow the materials around them. Pens don't tend to contain acid anyways, however manufacturers still put the word archival on them to attract scrapbookers and the like.
What I look for on a pen is an indication that the ink is pigmented, not dye based. Pigmented ink should keep its intensity considerably longer than dye based ink.
All things considered though, when you're scanning and computer colouring your work, the longevity of the ink may not be paramount to your craft :)

Thanks. Grizzly is a favorite so he gets used for many things. I usually draw him in a gray tee that says "BARMAID" but a buddy's post made me do an alteration. :)

I actually didn't buy the pens (markers) for their archival quality as I never am that concerned about the sketching/inking I do. I bought a brush pen for the first time and am having fun playing with it. I enjoy it more for the flow of ink, but you're right. When I scan and color via computer, ink longevity isn't a major concern :)

I am so surprised on who got sent home on the last episode. I thought he and the other two would have made for a very challenging decision for everyone at the end. If Glasscock wins it, she must be sleeping with someone, because she just is not in the same league as the others.
