Another birthday gone by....
Jan. 5th, 2004 10:22 pmI hit the big 31 today with the usual mixed fanfare. Thanks to all the LJ'ers who wished me one! You guys are the greatest.
Brought in Krispy Kreme's for the office today and even got a free dozen from the lady at the counter. The day started off great there! So after me and the usual gang of hungry people had our fill of them, on to work.
I got a phone call from the twin, who humorously and crudely wished me a happy birthday with noises I wish I could reproduce here. I in turn wish him one back. He asked what I wanted for a present, as his computer memory was his gift, and I drew a blank. I'll think of something when I get back home, I'm sure.
After work, a buddy of mine and I went to the Levee for a movie and dinner. We saw "Calendar Girls," the true story of the British ladies who took it all off for a charity calendar. It was a great movie, witty and funny at times, sad in others. My buddy and I were the only two men in the room and possibly the youngest there as well. After the movies, we went to an Irish pub for dinner and chat, almost sitting next to the group of elderly ladies who was in the theater with us. We naturally referred to them as the "Calendar Girls" and ended up sitting a bit farther away.
My buddy just got "engaged" to his boyfriend, so there was much to talk about. After dinner and more chatting about school, work, and the great looking bear at the bar, we split ways. After I got home, I had more than a few messages from family members wishing me a happy 31st and called my 8 yr old nephew back to which him a belated happy birthday too, his was yesterday.
As far as they go, this one was a great one. Still haven't had those birthday spankings, any takers? Well, I'm off to bed and sleep as I'm stuffed!

Date: 2004-01-06 07:03 am (UTC)And my thoughts are that I go to the movies that I think will be interesting or funny! If they're "chick flicks," well, I don't mind. I saw previews and interviews about this movie while I was in England last fall. If you like British comedy and drama, it's a good movie.
Happy Birthday

I'm pleased to see someone enjoy his birthday. Your genuine nature seeps through on your posts.
And, then, (bonus!) you're asking to be spanked! What kind of husky heaven have I found?
