Just some odds and ends:
  • After the permanent death of the iZombie, I bought an 80 GB iPod Classic in silver. I thought long and hard about getting an iPod Touch or even the iPhone, but figured that I generally just use the iPod for music and neither of the latter two had enough memory for my taste. It's been a fun toy so far and I'm loving the games.
  • I bought a collection of Hercules, Samson, etc. movies from the 1960's, the 50-movie pack for $14.99. The acting is so cheesy and bad, but the eye candy is well worth the price.
  • So many movie reviews to catch up on...
  • On the drive home yesterday, I stopped by Home Depot and bought an electric drill after seeing my sister's over the weekend. I've needed one of these for a long time. So after charging it, I took my entertainment center apart. I like the wood grain of my old one, but it was too large and clunky for my new flatscreen. Taking two of the even-shelves, I removed the longer sides, drilled new holes for the screws in the smaller sides, sawed a third shelf in half for a middle support and reassembled it into a shorter version. My TV now stands freely on top of it. I even rearranged the living room furniture into a better configuration. It took four hours. Take that HGTV! I'm now looking at what else I can take apart.
  • I love it when the office releases new software versions over the weekend without telling anyone. It's nice to have to deal with that instead of usual work (sarcasm). Some warning would have been nice.

Keep that drill charged and at the ready. I may need to hire you for your contracting services before much longer... (Plumber's crack pants welcome)

It might have been one of those Samson/Hercules films ... I think it was a Sinbad film of the same era where there's a battle against an army of skeleton warriors that has made me afraid of skeletons my entire life.

My appreciation for burly, oiled-up masculine dudes has never faltered, though.

Heh, I figured you for an iPhone guy, but I guess I was wrong. :p Glad you at least replaced the iZombie with something iWorking. You have definitely been struggling with that.

One drill does not make me a contractor. Now when I buy that table saw I have been thinking about ... :)

Well, I really hated the new entertainment centers I'd seen in stores, so I figured I'd give this a try and it's worked out really well :)

They've always been appealing to me too. And I think there was a Sinbad movie with Guy Williams, the dad from Lost in Space, who was quite a hunk himself in those days.

I held off on the iPhone. After calculating the sum of the difference in phone service providers to what I'm paying now, I figured it was good to wait a bit. And the new iPod Classic is working well for me :)
