New Years Resolutions
Jan. 1st, 2004 05:10 pmI know that this is kinda silly, because so many people make these resolutions and break them within hours, if not minutes of making them. Well, I'm going to try to give it my best shot.
1. Lose weight.
I know that this one is common to many people, but I'm off to a good start. I gave up regular soft drinks about five days ago and so far so good. I usually drank four or five of these a day, that's about 750 calories, so it's as good a start as any.
2. Go to the gym more often.
I was hitting the gym 3-4 times a week before I left for Europe. It really messed up my schedule. I'm going to try to resume that if I can.
3. Be less critical.
This is a tough nut to crack, as my job relies on my being critical of everything. This, of course, will not apply to my work. It more applies to my relationships with friends and family.
4. Be more outgoing.
After coming out of the grand closet last January, I avoided the gay bar scene. I'm contemplating going to the bars, at least certain ones, just to see what they are like. I'm not a bar guy, so this will likely be a challenge of sorts.
5. Curb my spending.
I've gotten in the habit of just buying what I want, within reason. I need to become more frugal.
Well, those are the top five I guess. If I can get through two of them I'll be doing well, I think. Feeling much better today, so I'm actually looking forward to getting to work tomorrow. No, I'm not out of my mind.... ;)
