I think the other thing is parents still (to this day) see it as bad or "not perfect" rather than looking at it as the same as "left handed" (okay bad analogy but you get the idea).
Once that attitude changes then the rest should fall in line.
Other than that I don't think I could go through life being called "Prudie".
