Hanging Out at the Optometrist's Office
I got a phone call at work today from my optometrist's office letting me know my contacts were available. After work, I drove down to pick them up. While I was waiting for the assistant to get my contacts, I couldn't help but see the sight above. The irony of the moment made me giggle. Here I was in a place that helped people to see better, only to have this image be one of the first they'd get to see so clearly. A part of me wanted to tell him, but he seemed busy and, with the cold weather, I can't imagine he wasn't aware of it.

On a more positive note, I found out today that the candidate list for the promotion I applied for has been received by the management. A little bird told me that my name is on it, one of five candidates and the only one from within my office. While I freely admit that I wouldn't be devestated if I didn't get the position, I have to say that it certainly does make me feel warm and fuzzy that my chances are pretty good.
