Halloween.. the Morning After

kybearfuzzUgh.. apparently I am not a kid anymore and no longer have a kid's sugar tolerance. While waiting for the costumed kids to arrive, I could not help but be swayed by the smell of that wonderful chocolate to partake in the sweet goodness. Like many people I bet, when I bought candy I tended to get the stuff I like -- Tootsie Rolls, plain M&M's, Milky Way bars, and Skittles.
I only had about a dozen or so kids, instead of my usual 40, so not sure what is up with that, but I had tons left. My last kid was this little girl, about 5 or so, whose bag was so heavy she couldn't lug it anymore. So she came up to my house without her bag, her mom was holding it, to get one last piece of candy. She looked into the bowl and saw Tootsie Rolls and exclaimed she loved them. I told to stay right there and went back into the house to get the other half of the huge bag of Tootsie Rolls I bought and said they were all hers. Her jaw dropped and she had the look of a lottery winner on her face. She ran back to her mom yelling that she'd hit the motherload.
Murphy got a lot of attention last night too. Kids love cats and thought he was wonderful. He snuck out for a brief moment behind my legs, the little $#!+! Nothing like running through the muddy flower bed in my socks to catch a 15 lb tabby.
I awoke this morning to a full-blown sugar crash, feeling lethargic and like crap (it is like Shakespeare, isn't it?). Where's that Diet Coke ....

Date: 2006-11-01 02:09 pm (UTC)Uhm.. sugary things... Maybe because all my breakfasts are terribly sweet I don't get that problem when i have the ocassional sugar excess.
Actually, sugary things ( specially drinks ) give me a sort of high... All those WKD I had two weekends ago had me half-drunk but absolutely happy about it.
Maybe you need more of the typical spanish sweet breakfast. Maybe toasted croissants filled with apricot jam? :)
