CHeap low budget films can go very far if marketed right. For example "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" only cost 3million to make, and because of great word of mouth, it made over 200 million in the united states alone. Also, some folks didn't like "Blair Witch Project", I happen to have thought it was brilliant! Supposedly cost only $20,000.00 to make, and because of great marketing and a phony website claiming this to be actual events. It made over 150million. Hype and over marketing can sometimes bust a movie. Superman Returns is the most expensive movie ever so far and they say it needs to make 600million to make a profit, and this mediocre movie has barely made 180 million. I don't think we will be seeing any more Superman Sequels. Oscar nods can allso boost a low budget film.
