The Day Off That Wasn't...

I took the day off today to do a few odds and ends in the house and run an errand or two. I was hoping for a bit of me-time too, but that didn't seem to happen.
First, I stopped by the Fort Mitchell city building to apply for my personal passport. I travel overseas on my work passport, but I have been meaning to get one of my own for a while. The office lady is pretty sharp. She noticed the error on my birth certificate right off the bat. My folks are six years apart in age on my application, but only two years apart on my birth certificate. The error was due to a joke my dad told my mom when they got married. He had told Mom he was only two years older when they dated, so she provided that information on my birth certificate and my sister's and the twin's. When Dad hit 40, she was told the truth and realized the joke and the error. I had to sign a statement about the discrepancy for my application. I should have it in eight weeks or so.
My second project was to deal with a leaking faucet in my bathtub. Sorry, no pictures. After nearly six hours and three visits to Homo Depot, it seems to be done and wasted my entire day off. I inadvertently stripped the valve seat trying to replace it with the recommended tool, as it's likely the original plumbing part when the house was built. I still need to replace it, but need to find a way to get that thing out. If anyone has any idea how to go about this, I'd appreciate it. I'm soliciting help from professional sources (thanks
bigreddee!).
Back to work tomorrow.. sigh... :(
