kybearfuzz: (Wonder Woman)

A few random bits:
  • I got a $100 gift certificate at work for my foreign travel presentation. I'm thinking Amazon.com, there are a few DVD's I've been wanting :)
  • The new Wonder Woman was out yesterday. I'm intrigued.
  • In the back is picture of Dan DiDio, the DC Comics Editor. Is it me, or does anyone else find his thick mustache and bald head a turn-on?
  • Two miles of walking + tennis against the wall + a series of running sprints yesterday = Ouch this morning!
  • The antibiotics the vet gave me for Murphy's missing tooth is causing him to have diarrhea. I wondered why he was sticking so close to the litter box. Poor kitty...
  • Dinner and a movie with friends tonight!

I feel bad for Donna. She went through all that history retconning over and over again; finally found a unique place as the Harbinger with a past that set her apart from Diana and someone comes along and scraps it all...again...and goes for the simplified, "I was Diana's younger sister" history once again...

...and she gets taken out like a punk on her first outing in the tiara in the new series...

And I hate the Diana Prince aka Emma Peel-wanna be secret agent angle at the end...

Well, given the backup running in 52, I doubt they're forgetting the Harbinger stuff. In the current DCU, she's apparently Diana's younger sister again (though hasn't that been the case in more than one of her origins?) but that doesn't mean that she doesn't have memories of everything else.

I'm curious about Wonder Woman too. Never read an issue of her comic(s) before this one.

You know, I recently saw an video interview clip with Dan DiDio and he didn't look like that...I seem to remember him having a full goatee. There was a short thread on the Gay League mailing list about how hot he was looking *g* I'm on board with that!

I guess we're still letting the history of the reformed earth settle again (remember the post-original Crisis).

I admit that Donna should have been more than capable of handling herself. Heck, she's been around the block more than once.

And as for her being Diana's younger sister, I have always liked that idea in the comics. Given her incredibly convoluted history now, it is likely the easiest they could come up with.

Oooh.. I would love to see him with a full goatee or a beard.. WOOF!

Where the hell were you sprinting?

And OMG, have you even gone through the dvds you bought during your last rampage?

I can see why they'd want to go with the simplified version of the origin as her sister. That's the same reasoning behind the latest Supergirl. Rather than try to explain all the others in the past simply saying she's Superman's cousin is a lot easier. The same principle goes with Donna and the sister angle. I would just hate to see Titans of Myth history scrapped for the sake of streamlining...

Ah, that's true, that was a great storyline. And as much as some people hated it, I loved the original Troia costume, bulky as it was.

Well, we're not sure what all they have changed yet, so we can hold some hope.

There is an old track behind the school where I play tennis. It's very secluded. I like that.

... and it's not my fault that those DVD box sets come out with such regularity. I blame captialism... :)

I always liked that costume too although given that it was made up from materials that were mythical gifts from the Titans I expected it to give her other abilities the same Diana's lasso did... I think what people reacted to was that God awful haircut they gave her at the time...

What movie is on tonight's agenda?

Well, it was a bit bitch for her, though I'm not sure a longer hairstyle would have worked with that outfit either. I can imagine that other artists didn't like the outfit because it was very intricate and looked weird if it wasn't drawn correctly (only Perez and Jimenez did it justice).

I don't think we've hammered out the movie just yet. Some of us have already seen The Omen, so that leaves either Cars or The Prairie Home Companion among the new releases.

Go to this article about Batwoman on CNN.com and click on the link "Batwoman Comes Out of the Cave". It appears to be a clip that was on one of the CNN news shows, and has some bits of him talking about Batwoman. Yum!
