After a nap this morning, I got up and decided I needed to do something active. So I got dressed and decided to walk to Borders. According to Yahoo! Maps, it's a 2.6 mile hike one way.

I stopped at Applebee's and had a late lunch (or early dinner). I have to admit that the server at the bar seemed less than impressed to have a rather sweaty guy at the bar. I can't help it, it was hot outside ;) So the food was good, the service could have been better. Oh well.

So I made it to Borders and bought a New Mutants compilation and the latest issue of "The Advocate," which stars LJ's own [livejournal.com profile] bigsabu, [livejournal.com profile] animbear, and [livejournal.com profile] redbeardedblond in the feature story on gay polygamy. Robert posted about it in his journal here. It's a very good article and has a nice picture of three burly bears. :)

After Borders, I made the long hike home. Needless to say that my legs are very sore....

haha, you truly have no shame ;) I just got home from doing a 2-mile walk around the hills of the neighborhood, and I'm icky and nasty, and there's no *way* I would be sitting in a public restaurant like this..haha.

A 5.2 mile round-trip hike. That's pretty good exercise, especially in weather that is considerably warmer and more humid than we've had most of this month. Today (Memorial Day) I'm determined to do the same thing. A nice brisk walk along the Kanawha River should do nicely. The Applebee's episode sounds amusing, the "server" seems like a jerk. ("Keep your distance, OUR customers don't sweat.").

[livejournal.com profile] trapezebear is also featured in that Advocate article.

Thats nothing, you should see all the people here in NY who go jogging through the city in the mornings and then stop at resturaunts to eat. Sweaty pitts and all. They think nothing of it either. I need to find a water park or something because it starting to get humid/hot here.
