Week in Review -- Bo, HRC, and Closure

kybearfuzzIt's been a busy week and I've been up early nearly every day through some freak occurrence in the space/time continuum. I'm heading off to Cleveland on Monday for the week. Not really wanting to go, but that is work.

demcub) was visiting town to have town hall meetings with local gay rights groups on the topic of adoptions and fostering of children by GLBT people. Bo and I met up with Brian (cincycub) for dinner at Chez Nora in Covington, KY on Tuesday night. Sigh.. such good food... The first meeting was with the Equality Ohio on the U of Cincinnati campus. Such amazing architecture on that campus, I'm sorry I've never visited before. With camera in hand, I ironically forgot to take pictures of the buildings.
Demcub Bo and Me
On the Wednesday, Bo and I met for dinner again, followed by the meeting with the Kentucky Fairness Alliance for another town hall meeting. I admit, I learned a lot about the legislation that has been proposed to prevent GLBT people from adopting or fostering kids. Like leaving them in orphanges or letting them be fostered by felons (which isn't a problem to anyone it seems) is better than a lesbian or gay family in some peoples' eyes. It was informative, but also very unnerving that things could go that far. The speakers were great at both meetings and I think they pulled a respectable crowd for the area.
Today was busy at work, but okay. I made it home early enough to call my recently deceased buddy John's employer and friend who wrote me to tell me the sad news. She seems like such a wonderful person and has a great sense of humor, John was lucky to have her in his life. She was sweet enough to give me his family's address so I can send my regards. Sigh..
